Visit Google AI Studio

Sign in with Google

If you're not already signed in, log in with your Google account. Any Gmail account works - you don't need a special developer account.

Create API Key

Click the "Create API Key" button. You'll see a popup asking you to select a Google Cloud project.

Tip: If this is your first time, select "Create API key in new project". Google will automatically create a free project for you.

Copy Your API Key

Once created, your API key will appear. It starts with AIzaSy...

Click the copy icon to copy it to your clipboard.

Paste in Resume Maker AI

Return to the Resume Maker AI editor and paste your API key in the modal. Click "Save Key & Unlock AI" and you're done!

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Gemini API really free?

Yes! Google provides a generous free tier for the Gemini API with 15 requests per minute and 1,500 requests per day - more than enough for personal resume building.

Is my API key safe?

Your API key is stored locally in your browser using localStorage. It never leaves your device and is not sent to our servers. We only use it to make direct API calls to Google on your behalf.

What if I lose my API key?

You can always go back to Google AI Studio and view or regenerate your API key. Simply paste the new key in the modal to update it.

Can I use OpenAI or other providers?

Currently, we support Google Gemini API. Support for OpenAI and Groq is coming soon!
